Wellness (Vaccinations/Examinations) – Visits include a head to tail physical examination by our veterinarian. Based on your pet’s age and lifestyle, we will tailor a preventive care plan which includes vaccines, blood work, parasite preventatives, and nutritional counseling.
Surgeries – Dr. Krusen utilizes safe and effective anesthesia to offer your pet an array of surgical services and options including canine and feline spays and neuters, declaws, mass removals, and other elective surgeries. Dr. Krusen truly enjoys and has a special interest in surgery. Much of his 30 years in practice and continuing education has focused on general surgery.
Dentistry – Our dental services include ultrasonic scaling, extractions, and a two week long antibiotic in the gum pockets. Teeth cleanings are quite often needed during a pet’s life to prevent dental pain, infection, and tooth loss.
In-house Pharmacy – Our pharmacy comprises a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, shampoos, and flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also can order prescription diets for those pets who require a special diet to manage many medical conditions.
Referral Services – We offer referrals to specialists for ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures, and diagnostic support of more complicated cases. We also offer referral services for complicated cases involving neurological disorders, dermatology, ophthalmology, radiography, etc.
Microchipping – For permanent identification of your pet, we offer Microfindr microchipping so you can be sure your pet can be returned safe and sound.
Small Animal Dietary Management – We offer nutritional guidance all the way through your pet’s life, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, and performance.
Heartworm & Flea/Tick Prevention – We comprise a program for the specific needs of your pet that fit your environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas and ticks on your pet, as well as in your house and yard. We often see ineffectiveness and problems with over the counter and online products and are confident that we have the most effective products at a lower cost, that are guaranteed.
Geriatric Care – A companion animal is considered senior by the time they reach 9 or 10 years old, therefore we advise twice-a-year exams for our senior patients and annual bloodwork. Geriatric care is another special interest of Dr. Krusen and his staff. Adding supplements or medications and adjusting diet can enhance and lengthen your pet’s life.
Dermatology – We consistently see animals that have some form of a skin problem. We will identify and treat the cause of skin ailments, including allergies, parasites, or immune-related disorders.
Class IV Laser Therapy – Dr. Krusen and his staff utilize a Companion Therapy Laser unit for the treatment of pain and inflammation and skin, musculo-skeletal, and neurological issues. The laser’s infra-red light waves greatly reduce our patients’ inflammation and hasten healing. We often use Laser therapy as part of the majority of routine surgeries to decrease pain and speed recovery, as well as on arthritic joints and ligament sprains.
Tech Visits – Maintenance appointments can be scheduled for your animal, such as, nail trims, anal sac expressions, and ear cleanings.
